Thanks for your interest in Vans! Our donation programs give back to communities in which we do business and support nonprofit organizations that enable creative self-expression through art, music, action sports or street culture.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when applying for a donation:
- Once submitted all requests are personally reviewed
- You will receive a response via e-mail, within 30 days
- You can also check the status or your request through your online profile
- Unfortunately, we cannot accept unsolicited product donation requests
Community Fund
The purpose of the Vans Community Fund is to give back to the communities in which we do business.
Funding Criteria
The Vans Community Fund supports nonprofit organizations serving Southern California by awarding small cash grants.
We prioritize giving to organizations that:
- Serve the community in Orange County, California - especially those serving Costa Mesa, California
- Clearly articulate the need they are meeting and how our grant will help them accomplish their goals
- Are fiscally sound and have strong management practices
We do not fund:
- Organizations without 501(c)(3) status or a comparable fiscal sponsor
- Sectarian or religious programs
- Organizations whose primary purpose is to influence legislation
- Political or fraternal organizations
- Private schools
Process
The Vans Community Fund has 2 funding cycles per year. Organizations need to complete the online grant application in its entirety to be considered in the current funding cycle. If funded, organizations will be expected to complete a short survey about the impacts of the donation six months after the grant is awarded. Organizations may only submit one grant application per funding cycle.
Checkerboard Fund
The purpose of the Vans Checkerboard Fund is to support nonprofit organizations in North America that enable creative self-expression through art, music, action sports or street culture.
Funding Criteria
To be considered for funding, organizations MUST:
- Enable creative self-expression through their programs
- Incorporate at least of one the following in their programs: art, music, skateboarding, surfing, BMX, snowboarding, street culture
We prioritize giving to organizations that:
- Serve people and communities who face barriers to creative self-expression
- Clearly articulate the need they are meeting and how our grant will help them accomplish their goals
- Are fiscally sound and have strong management practices
We do not fund:
- Organizations without 501(c)(3) status or the comparable fiscal designation for the country in which the organization is based
- Sectarian or religious programs
- Organizations whose primary purpose is to influence legislation
- Political or fraternal organizations
- Private schools
Process
The Vans Checkerboard Fund awards grants once a year. Organizations need to complete the online grant application in its entirety to be considered in the current funding cycle. Depending on the nature of the funding request, Vans may decide commit to funding an organization for up to 3 years.
